McCain=Bush?

Okay I am pissed… alot right now. I just read a CNN article about spending. Who will spend more Obama or McCain? I am not mad about that but I feel it is the duty of the news to show and equal view on these subjects. There were around 4 posts that they showed on air that were all anti- mccain. Then all of the comments on the bottom about the article were anti mccain. Here are some quotes from the article that show me something.

“McCain says Obama will be a tax and spender if he’s elected. Consider this: The Republican administration of John McCain’s good buddy, President Bush, has doubled our national debt since 2000. Bush rewrote the definition of spending money, and McCain supported him more than 90 percent of the time”

“Then what happened. John McCain ’s friend George Bush happened.”

okay so the first sentence reminds me of something tim mccarver or john madden would say. Now those are his words not a quote by McCain so let me get that straight. I ask you this, isnt Obama going to tax and spend? Ohh yeah he is. So why is this being brought up? I dont know. Also why is McCain’s last name bush now? Did he change his name? I am sorry he did vote 90% of the time with Bush, okay but give me a list of 90% of the things bush has done that you dont like… you probably cant name them. I can tell you what i dont like about bush, no child left behind and the patriot act. I am okay with the war but even so if you arent that is three things!! I am so perplexed by how bush is satan now. If you can name off alot of things bush has done that you dont like, things that are deep and actually take alot of research to find congrats i respect that, but even you know that McCain is not Bush. It kills me that paople actually fall for this crap.; I hate the fact that this article makes it seem like the national debt was doubled by McCain. Dont the democrats control the house and senate??? ohh yeah they do. So shouldnt they be able to cut down on spending, yeah they should. So dont lookat Bush and say McCain… But wait they have some similar policies, duh they are in the SAME PARTY. My goodness when did republicans become the flippin devil. I dont get it. Here is what I want tax people the same % and limit the government. Why should I become rich when the money I make is going to get fricken taxed like crazy. Its not like I won the lottery I actually earned this money. I must say that issues aside I want people to look at McCain as a person and not a clone, because he is not. I think it is unfair and you need to think logically about these decisions you are going to make. Either way we are having change in the white house.

I would like to leave you with a fact and a rant. Fact first, dodging a question is not funny for politicians. They are expected to answer questions with respect to the host and if it is a hard question you should have an answer. Biden looked about as unqualified to answer that question as people say Palin is to be a VP. I am not trying to step on toes I am just worried we are turning into mindless drones. I am not rasist at all either but I feel like I need to post some comments my friend recieved. He was talking polotics with a young african american woman. She could not answer why she wanted to vote for Obama, my friend continued to explain why he was voting for McCain. She finally said “I dont really care about the issues. When a black man runs for office I am going to vote for him no matter what.” That to me is so sad. I understand having pride in the fact that Obama is very strong choice for president and he is Black, but please at least have a reason other than race. That is as bad as me not voting for him because of his race, because that is what she is doing to McCain. Thanks for reading and enjoy your quest for life liberty and the pursuit if happiness.

Minnesota = playoffs??

Okay so my friend and I are thinking of starting up a Basketball blog and this is my attempt to see if I can do a good enough job to waste my time doing it…

So I know what you are thinking after reading that title, your saying he must be talking about the Vikings. Well that is not so, I am talking about the 2008-09 Minnesota Timberwolves. I feel like they have done some things to make themselves a contender…

So here are my 4 reasons why the Timberwolves will be a contender….

1. Adding quality players- Kevin Love, Mike Miller, and Rodney Carney. These three players are going to give the Timberwolves some quality players and possible three starters. Anytime you can bring in three starting quality players you know that you are going to improve. Kevin Love is just a great post player who can shoot the rock and spread the defense. He also has amazing outlet passes, which could prove to be very important in running some fast breaks. Mike Miller has great size and shooting ability. Adding Miller gives the T-wolves even more three point shooting ability. He makes the T-wolves have three players that shoot above 40% from three. Carney adds another athletic body to go along with Brewer. He can score but is inconsistent. Even so, he is going to be good enough to run the floor, and with Kevin Love passing the rock his athletic ability could be used for that.

2. Returning Players- Al Jefferson, Rashad McCants, Corey Brewer, Randy Foye, and Sebastian Telfair. Jefferson averaged a double double last year. I expect his numbers to improve. Adding Kevin Love means that they will have another big body to worry about. McCants can straight up shoot the rock. I doubt he starts but I do think he will put up sick numbers. I am thinking that maybe he will win some kind of post season award, maybe 6th man? We will see, but if he continues into the regular season like he has the post season it is possible. Brewer is an athlete, he can run the floor and play defense. There is always room for a guy that can play defense. If he can improve his shooting % he stands a chance of starting. Foye is an underrated player. 13 points and 4 assists a game last year was good, but he also shot above 40% from three point range. Telfair proves to be a good backup for Foye. Coming in and scoring around 9 points and 5 assists last year make him a solid backup.

3.Depth- At PG they are solid with hardly any drop. Both guys can pass and score, but Foye is definitely a better shooter. At SG they have great shooting as well, Miller can pass and score and McCants is a scorer as well. SF they are just athletic. Miller could slide down to SF if you want him on the floor with McCants. Brewer and Carney both can run the floor well and if they can score some points this year they can be game breakers. At PF they have Kevin Love and then two undersized guys behind him. I look at this as playing one post man when love is out. Gomes and Smith can score and should be able to score coming off the bench. At C they have Jefferson, I know that he is almost good enough to be depth by himself but they do have two big bodies to come in and give him a rest.

4. Scoring- they are very balanced, they can score down low(Love,Jefferson) or from the three(Miller, McCants, and Foye). You should have a hard time stopping there offense. Love has shown mature post moves and three point range. Jefferson averaged 20 points a game. Miller McCants and Foye can all score from the three. So if you stop the post how do you stop the three. Looking at there post season numbers they have had alot of scoring leaders. Carney, Brewer, Love, Foye, McCants and Jefferson have all put up good numbers. The only way to stop them is to hope they cant shoot the three, but the likely hood of three 40% three point shooters being off the same night isnt good.

So this year to me is the year that the Timberwolves make a run at the playoffs. Of course they need to stay healthy, but hoping that this doesn’t happen I really think that the T-wolves will be in the playoff bubble.

Why I am not a Delhomme fan…

So like he my roomate Adam pointed out half of my blogs come from his wrongness, well actually only two( conway, wisconsin basetball). So after reading his latest blog that brags about Delhomme and his game winning drive allow me to be the YIn to his Yang or vis versa.

The article above points out 5 big comebacks for Jake Delhomme. I am not trying to say that these are un-impressive but I am trying to point out that they are not good enough to make him into an amazing comeback king all-pro quarterback.

5.) okay so since when was a forty yard touchdown pass considered a drive? He completed 4 passes, 3 for 29 yards and then hit the last one for forty yards. When i think drive I think maybe 4-4 but not a 40 yard pass to score. He didnt do anything but get in distance for a hail mary esque play.

4.) I mean congrats on a great super bowl performance. Ill give him this one he did make a comeback but I mean they still lost so maybe if the fourth to last drive he could have been even more clutch they would have won.

3.)As far as the Chargers game I was not super impressed with Delhomme. They had 10 drives and only scored 1 touchdown. Yes he made a good but I would say very lucky throw to the end zone to end the game.

2.)I mean I think we are forgetting the fact that the panthers as a team make comebacks possible. 17-0 means that if their defense doesnt step up then they still lose no matter what. I would also like to point out that the D was prepared for Peete. Umm last time I checked they are different qb’s. Plus he threw 2 picks so That game wasnt like he came in and just threw 3 td’s and won the game. The fact he threw 2 picks means to me that this is one of the defenses best comebacks not delhomme.

1.)Yeah one pass again. I would respect this alot more if it wasnt comebacks but individual throws.

Also he played in a superbowl congrats so did rex. I would also like to give him credit at the same time. He clearly makes the panthers better and i think that what he did in the superbowl was awesome but I look at the whole playoffs and think what was so special. I wonder why is he underrated? How does this make him undervalued? I think that sometimes as sports fans, I am also guilty of this, we try to make our selves the victom. I think that we need to understand that just because, for example, Aaron Rodgers is the Packers QB doesnt make him the best or underrated. His stats speak for what kind of player he is. I do think that Delhomme is a good quarterback but I do think that the panthers still need to draft one. I mean it gives Delhomme some competition and gives them an option in a couple of years. I do think that there are plenty of QB’s that could do better than delhomme with what he has had, even though this year they are pretty thin at reciever. So is Delhomme horrible… NO. He is just an average QB that no one thinks sucks but i also dont think he is that great. Sorry if that offends you but he is not a guy that people look at and just forget about. I mean they expect what he gives and that is good seasons that have not produced a ring.

My Fantasy Draft….

So I just had my fantasy draft and can say I am very satisfied. So here are my picks and who I wish I could have picked…

*=starter

Quarterback side not-there are two starting QBs in this league.

*Tom Brady- That’s right first pick. I mean this guy is good so who would not want him on their team?

*Donavon McNabb- I feel like he will put up good numbers this year. He looks to be done with his shoulder problems and finished last year strong.

Jon Kitna- Having a good preseason and could throw up some big numbers. I hope that he becomes good enough for trade bait so I can improve as the season wears on.

The person I wished I would have been able to get was David Garrard probably. Quarterback is pretty solid for me so I really am satisfied but Garrard is a good player who could be really good this year

Running-back

*Marshawn Lynch- was really good last year till he got hurt. He runs and receives well, and with a so so QB he will get alot of touches.

*Ryan Grant- was a top 5 running-back at the end of the year when he got to start. The packers will look to him alot to try to ease the load on Aaron Rodgers.

Thomas Jones- Yes I know he is struggling in preseason but he will be fine. I look for him to be alot like a Kitna, either starter or good enough that he can be traded to improve where I am weak.

Rashard Mendenhall- I mean he is a risk guy that could be good or worthless. If he is good I can use him to add more meat to a trade or I can drop him to pick up someone that will add some meat.

Fred Taylor- Jones-Drew is banged up and Taylor will put up good numbers. If he is as solid as I think he will be, I will definitely be able to trade one of my running-backs for a solid starter at a position I am hurting at.

The guy here I wished I could have picked was Westbrook. Not that I really had a shot at him but he was a guy that if I was in a one Quarterback league would have taken with my first pick.

Wide Receiver

*Plaxico Burress- This guy was amazing in the playoffs and if Eli sticks with that success he will put up huge numbers and be a top 5 receiver.

*Devin Hester- I hope that Chicago uses him more in the receiving game. I know he will put up big numbers on returns but if he can start to become a receiving threat then he can be a top 10 receiver to own.

*Nate Burleson- I am super excited about this man. He is there punt and kick returner, and is right in the running for their number two receiving spot. With injuries to their top two guys he can make a break for a solid starting job and score big points for me.

Lee Evans- solid receiver that fell so far I felt like I would be dumb not to take him. He has a good chance to really put up numbers and maybe push to start on my team.

Robert Meachum- I heard that this kid has some speed. He didnt play last year and people forgot about him, but if he can be as explosive as he has been during the preseason than he could be their number two guy, and since brees is going to do well he cant throw to Colston and Shockey all the time.

I wish I could have picked Andre Johnson. I was two picks away and one of those was an automatic picker. So I knew if I got passed this one guy I would have got him. Man He could have helped me out alot. I really wish I would have one more big name receiver to add to Burress and Burleson.

Tight End

Alge Crumpler- This guy use to be a top 5 tight end. What happened? Well I think its safe to say Atlanta happened. I would imagine that Vince will look to Alge alot and he should move right back into that top 5 range. Plus, like I thought, he was there late and I waited and picked him up.

If I would have gone against everything I believe in and picked a tight end as early as everyone else I could have gotten Shockey. I think he is going to have maybe the best year of his career in NO. He has the same coach as he did back when he had that amazing year when he was still a young guy.

Kicker

Mason Crosby- I am a Packers fan and Crosby is good so why not take him. The only reason I am happy with this pick is because I was one of two people to take a kicker in the last 2 rounds…. wow what was everyone else thinking?

This is the player I wanted and so I am fully satisfied with this pick and would have had no other kicker.

Defense

Seattle- They were good last year and play a pretty easy schedule besides New England. I think that they will provide alot of solid stats with Peterson and Tatupu. Plus dont forget about Trufant getting picks. Another reason I am proud of this one…. I waited, the third strike for everyone in my league. Man they must not realize that there are alot of good defenses available in the NFL.

I wish I could have picked Dallas. I think that there D will be a terror. I like there line up as a whole and think they will be hard to score on.

So as you can see I have a good team and if somethings go my way I can be even better. Just thought I would share my picks and why I made them……

Mighty Ducks- Conway or Banks?

So there has always been a big debate between my roommate and I about who the better Mighty Ducks player is. Now we are not talking the professional hockey team here, we are talking the Disney trilogy Mighty Ducks. The two players are Charlie Conway and Adam Banks. I have defended Banks forever and believe that he is the most important player on the team. Everyone else argues that Charlie is.

Now I would like to say that I am a big Mighty Ducks fan and know the three movies very well. I would also like to agree with the Charlie fans that at first Charlie seems to be the “man”, but after closley looking at what people have said to me and examples they have given I can easily argue for Banks. Now the first two movies are not hard to argue for, but the third is hard to even consider a Mighty Ducks movie.

So in the first movie………

- You can obviously start off by saying that Charlie was there first. This is true but i argue how many wins did they have before Banks got there? The answer is Zero. They were 0-11-1. Then Banks comes…. they win 2-1. Banks scored the first goal. Then 5-3 two goals Ducks 2-0. Then Banks there “star” scores again and they win 4-2 and are 3-0. Now the final game….. side note popping your collar clearly comes from Coach Reilly.. wow what a style. Back to the final….. Banks scores and gets a cheap shot and has to leave the game. He made it 3-1. Then they come back and tie it 4-4 and Conway has not scored a goal yet, then the penalty shot. Here people point out that Conway takes it but he was not the teams pick. First of all they had to injure Banks so he was not a factor because you obviously want him taking it. Then they all want Germaine to take it but Bombay chooses his lovers child Conway. Conway puts on a nice triple deak and scores the Ducks win. So I would say if Banks was available he would have taken that shot not Conway.

So with Conway and no Banks….0-11-1

With Banks 4-0….. Banks had 5 goals in 4 games Conway had one. It just happened to be the most important one. Mind you just his presence sparked the offense from 2 goals in 12 games to 16 goals in 4 games.

D2……

-The first look you get at the Ducks playing again is in the scrimmage against the new talent that was brought in. The only one that happens to score is Adam Banks. This movie jumps right back on the Adam scores all the goals bandwagon. That along with two other things make it clear that Adam Banks is the most important player on the Ducks. 1) They say Adam Banks is the Captain!!! During a game I believe their second one he is actually announced as captain. 2) This time on a far bigger stage Banks takes the most important shot of the game… the last penalty shot. These three things show that Banks was far and away the best player and most important to touch the ice for the ducks.

D3……

Okay, first off this is not even really a legit movie to give examples from. There are two crucial reasons why….

1) it implies Conway=Captain.. Ummm clearly false. Banks is announced as captain in the second. They also put a captain C on Conway’s jersey from the first one.. and in the actual first movie no one has a C.

2) It implies Bombay played hockey after the Hawks. That goes completely against the first movie where they imply that Bombay quit hockey because of Reilly. He was a kid when that happened not a highschooler.

so because of those two flaws I have to make a desicion.. do i want to shun D1 or D3…ummm D3. So D3 thanks for playing but I cant trust anything you told me.

So in summary Banks is the Best Player and most Valuable. Now Charlie is important to the team but not Banks important. Im sorry one goal in two movies is not good enough to even top Banks in one movie. I will say its hard to argue this point in the first movie more than the second, but the facts are very clear Banks did more and scored more. The second one has no argument.. Conway even stepped aside himself and said Banks was better and more important than he was by giving him his spot.. heck he even thinks he isnt as good as Russ Tyler.

I also disagree with the statement Charlie is the heart of the team. Since this based on the only two movies that fit the Mighty Ducks story dont show that at all I cant give anyone that. Now if I had only saw the third one I would agree.

I feel like Charlie is maybe a top five duck player, maybe. I do think he is a better coach than Banks based on the facts but still no MVP. My top 5 ducks are…

Banks

Fulton- hard shot and physical play are constintly relied on

Jesse Hall- Is the guy on the team. Before Banks is the best player and leads the flying V

Connie- Probably the number 2 originally. Plays well passes well and finds the back of the net.

Goldberg- Hey someone has to stop the goals. If he stayed scared of the puck who knows how many goals would get scored on the Ducks?

Now That It Is Over….

Okay so finally the ugliest divorce in recent years ,sports wise, is over. Brett Farve is a Jet. I would first like to wish him the best of luck in NY and would like to thank him on his years of service. I appreciate him making it easier to be a Packers fan, most of the time.

Now that he is gone i can give my opinion on the situation.

I remember being really sad when he retired and was ready at the same time. I really didnt think he was going to do it but he did., and like the organization i was ready to move on.

Had he actually realized earlier and come back i would have been fine with him coming back but i was reading in an article on espn that he did talk about coming back and decided to stay retired. That to me seemed to be the end of this.

I am not going to comment on what either side said they are both at fault and neither should take full blame on what happened.

I am completely backing the packers organization. I think in the long run this is better for our team and think that Brett is a little confused on what he wants.

But now i am very disheartened to be a Packers fan. I do think Brett makes us better, but not as much as people are making it out to be. Aaron will do just fine. I remember when we had brett and we only won 4 games. So it is clear that he hasnt made us better the front office has. 40 of the 53 players on the active roster last year were players Ted Thompson brought in. So I dont understand trying to fire a guy that has built a team into a powerhouse. I know a quarterback is important but it still takes a full team dedicated to winning a superbowl to do it. Look at the Giants last year, you cant tell me Eli was the only reason they won it. There defense was playing great, Burress was untouchable against the Pack and as a team they were playing the best they had all year. I think that we need to realize that Brett has struggled in the playoffs during the end of his career in Green Bay and we were ready to move on. I think that Ted T. and Coach M. are making decisions that will help us in the long run. Yes we might not be as good as we were last year but it isnt because of Brett. It will be because of our harder schedule and maybe, if it continues, distractions so called “packers fans” are making.

So i am calling for all packers fans to lay off the management and if you cant deal be a jets fan because they can obviously provide what you want. Brett Farve and a team that is mediocre, because without our front office that is what we would be.

Why LSU( even though they won) should have not been in the national championship game.

Okay so lets start this post off with my trip to the 704 or monroe as some call it. It was could be one of the greatest trips in my life but was also so geeky. Basically i got introduced to shadow bane. My friend mike duncan plays it. I didnt quite understand how to play it so i decided to pick up pokemon. I beat the yellow version in less than 24 hours. Basically it was just mike d and i hanging out untill the last day i was there. Then the ladies man or jonny whinna as some know him decided that we should go ice skating with some ladies. It was fun except for the fact that jonny got cock blocked so bad. So after skating we went to penn station with some ladies and i changed my name to chauncey. then they invited us to the bobcats game. We went to the game it was fun yada yada yada. Then we went back to whinnas. The part i left out of this was that my friends and i had thing shaven into our heads. I went for the flash look with the lightning bolts in the sides, Jonny went for the bolts but wanted a dollar symbol as well. My friend jeff had initials on one side a big happy face in the back and the state if north carolina on the other side. We got some pretty weird looks. Then i left, i was sad.

So besides that i have been working.

Now to the lsu deal here is why i think they should have not been in the title game… i would like to note that i do not care for either lsu or osu.

1) they jumped three teams to get their that didnt lose. vt, kansas, and georgia

2) yes maybe georgia and kansas are not deserving but vt is. They were i think 6th and lsu was seventh in the nation and both teams won their conference champ game. lsu beat number 14 tenn while vt beat number 11 bc. okay so if lsu kills tenn and vt squeks by bc then they should have jumped them but that is not the case.

VT wins by 14

LSU wins by 7

yes harder conference but none the less vt beat a harder team as far as the rankings are concerened yet the same people come out and say thattheir system is not right. if they judged by their system vt would have played osu. I will agree that niether of those teams are the best team in the nation but they should have been in the title game.

Packers

Okay so i am writting this before this crap game is over. I would like to say that the bears do suck still. I would also like to point out that the packers have shot themself in the foot arm and face this game. The bears have put together three drives this whole game!!! That is it. We were down by a touchdown at half, then we get two int one for a td and the other gives the bears a short field which they score on and then a blocked punt for a touchdown. This has been a horrid game for our offense and i must say our defense hasnt played horrible but the worst job goes to our punt team, BOOO!!! Two blocked kicks and one muffed. I am very disappointed not by losing but by beating ourselves.

Finally a free day!!!

So today was the first day in i dont know how long that i didnt have anything to do!! Yes, i love being lazy. My day consisted of disc golf barberitos dominos and 300!! I know that is a great day. So lets talk about these exciting events.

Disc golf was alot easier when i played it last year. I was horrible. My first throw i did something to my arm and it was down hill from there. We played from the blue tees, they are a little farther than white tees. I was beaten by a guy who just had shoulder surgery. I know i am a sad man.

After that i came home and checked out the pro bowl rosters. Wow they had screw job written all over them. Let me give you my thoughts on every position…

QB–AFC- I feel like maybe some love could have been given to anderson or even garrard. None the less brady manning and big ben were the right choice.

NFC- Good job here Favre romo and Hasselback are the right choices. Maybe brees could want in but the voters did a good job with quarterbacks.

R B–AFC-SCREW JOB.. poor fred taylor man he should just quit because no one gives him a lick of respect. I feel like willie and lt are locks because of yards but why addai? Yes he is good but what about jamal lewis, mcgahee, and of course taylor. Sorry addai your 4.1 yards a carry just dont match taylors 5.1. See taylor splits time with another good rb in jones-drew and still puts up good numbers,.

NFC- I want earnest graham in there. He has been amazing as a starter. He is plan and simple nasty. Sorry barber but you prolly got in just because it seems that cowboy fans voted alot more than anyone else.

FB–AFC&NFC- I know nothing about fullbacks in the nfl but i do know that neal is a beast and richardson has to be a good choice considering he blocks for peterson. If someone is shafted at the fullback position i would not be able to tell you but none the less congrats to these two.

WR–AFC-Well done with picks. I do think chad johnson needs to be on the team somehow, he has had a good year.

NFC- Colston Burress Jennings all could have made it. Colston should have been on the team by votes i mean the guy has had great numbers on a team that is just starting to play well. Burress scores alot of touchdowns and jennings does as well.

TE–AFC-Kellen Winslow JR needs to be here. No question in my mind that he needed to be voted in. Come on people he has great numbers and he and tony gonzalez’s numbers are almost identical except winslow has more yards per catch.

NFC-I dont care as long as witten is there because he is a Monster!!

OL–AFC-Joe Thomas deserves it, not just because he is from wisconsin but because he is a great player. Otherwise i dont care about the offensive line in the AFC.

NFC-All I can say is that Dallas fans are the only ones who voted.

I have choosen to focus only on offense because it is late and defense is going to take alot of explaining so…

So enough football lets talk Dominos and the epicness that is SCOTT GARRISON. So SCOTT comes over to watch 300 with me and we wanted some pizza. So i decided to order pizza through campusfoods.com but we couldnt log on. Then we decided to go to Dominos website but after a few minutes we gave up hope on that website and the web in general. So SCOTT called Dominos only to get no answer. We are just done with dominos at this point and decided that papa johns would be better. So they answered only to tell us that this location didnt deliver to us so they gave us the number that would deliver. So when we called them they said we dont deliver to that location. We were pissed. So we got back on the web and check what dominos was closest to us. When we called them they said they dont deliver to us and gave us another number. My question was that they are 2 miles away why dont they deliver. Then with a voice that was almost defeated SCOTT asked for a large pepperoni pizza and we finally got it. THANK GOD. So we enjoyed pizza and the manliest movie ever 300.
